    This listing is of a historic German medal, for bravery ("Fur
    Tapferkeit"
    ) in the field. This medal was introduced in late 1800's and was in use through the years of WWI. On the obverse: bust of
    Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig of Hesse who reigned from 1982 through 1918 when the German Revolution began.
    The medal is composed of silver, no less than .980 fine per XRF reading. It is between approx. 33-34 mm in diameter and about 14 grams in terms of weight.
