    These stamps were issued to memorialize the courageous capture of Mount Suribachi on the Japanese-held island of Iwo Jima, in WWII, by the United States Marines. The stamps feature Joe Rosenthal's historic photograph of Marines raising the U.S. flag on February 23rd, 1945. The stamps were issued on July 11th, 1945.
    Our sheets are guaranteed to be fault-free with full, original, never hinged gum. All selvage is free of marks or stains and is fully intact (cropped in pic, which is a stock scan).
