Span-Am War Era US Army Pattern 1898 Canvas Haversack Pack w/Rock Island Arsenal  Markings - Nice Condition
Up for sale is a Spanish American War Era US Army Pattern 1898 Canvas Haversack Pack.  The haversack is used, see photo's for condition.  The haversack is Khaki in color.  No rips or tears in the canvas.   It still has the canvas strap to close the pack, the buckle is present.  This example is maked: Post Hospital on the inside.  It is also faintly marked: Rock Island Arsenal, date is illegible.  The pack has the J-Hooks on the back for the shoulder strap (shoulder strap is not included).
The bag is made of drab duck canvas with J-hooks on the upper corners of the back and a 14" x 14" flap on the front.  Inside, the pack is divided into two compartments, one for a removable pocket.   A pocket on the front designed to hold the 1874 meat can.  There is a utensil pocket on each side for storage of a knife and fork.  This bag used the detachable 2" wide leather shoulder strap (not included).
