    Description

This is an extremely fine World War I 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class in its presentation case that is in excellent condition. The stove black magnetic iron core is with a flawless finish and details that are sharp and in high relief. The bead on the silver frame is sharp and well defined. The ring is marked with the letter “F” indicating manufacturer by an unknown maker … possibly a variant of the Friedländer mark. The cross is housed in a black/gray snakeskin pattern type case that measures 2x3 inches. The base upon which the cross rests is fitted perfectly for this cross and is of royal blue satin holding it tightly in place. The underside of the lid is fitted with a white satin pad upon which is printed the Imperial Prussian eagle and Prussian war flag. The push button spring closure assembly works perfectly and hold the lid tightly closed. An extremely fine, officer presented example that remains in outstanding condition.
